	Me and my wife Heidi are two artisans graduated from the Musical Instrument Building Department of a Finnish college called Ikaalinen College of Crafts and Design. This web site exhibits the instruments that we have designed and built during and after our studies, ranging from modern electric upright basses, bass guitars and electric violins to ancient hurdy-gurdies. There are also some quite standard electric and acoustic guitars and basses on the site, but the main emphasis is on instruments of our own design. However, we are not currently working as luthiers; I have drifted to the fields of information technology and architecture and Heidi is a full-time mother for our four sons. We are still constantly looking for ways to activate our lutherie skills to be more than just a hobby. Our goal for the future is to set up a business and start producing musical instruments of the very highest quality and original design. So "J&H Musical Instruments" is not a company - yet. We hope that it will some day become one, but at the moment "J&H Musical Instruments" is merely the title of this web site.
